Roy Stegall

Roy Stegall has been a resident of Arkansas for 31 years, originally hailing from a small town in Northeast Arkansas with a population of about 8,000 people. After spending his early years there, Roy moved to Conway at the age of 19 to attend barber school in North Little Rock. While living in Conway, he found better opportunities in Northwest Arkansas, prompting his move to Fayetteville.

In Fayetteville, Roy has enjoyed the vibrant college town atmosphere and the strong sense of community surrounding the University of Arkansas. His career as a barber began in earnest in Fayetteville, thanks to the encouragement of a high school friend. Over the past six years, Roy has established himself as a well-known barber, appreciated for his skills and approachable demeanor.

Roy's journey into barbering started at the age of 14 when he began cutting hair for friends and family. Despite initially wanting to be a veterinarian, Roy found his passion in barbering and has since thrived in the profession. He appreciates the supportive community in Fayetteville and has never encountered significant problems since his move.

Living in Fayetteville, Roy enjoys the friendliness of the people and the lack of mosquitoes, a stark contrast to his hometown. He shares his home with a 65-pound golden doodle, which has become a beloved companion and a conversation starter in his neighborhood. Roy's friendly nature and his dog's approachable demeanor have made him a well-liked figure in the community.

Roy's upbringing in a close-knit family, particularly under the guidance of his strong and supportive mother, has shaped his respectful and resilient character. He navigates life with a practical and cautious approach, always mindful of his surroundings and the potential challenges he might face as a black man in different environments.

Roy's experiences in Fayetteville have been largely positive, and he continues to value the opportunities and sense of belonging he has found in the city. His story is one of adaptation, community, and the pursuit of a fulfilling career in barbering, all while maintaining a strong connection to his roots and family values.

Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
